Business Case Workflow

Draft Status

Newly created Business Cases typically begin in Draft status.

In Draft status, users can:

  • Edit metadata

  • Add line items

  • Modify estimates

  • Import additional data


Approval Process

Approving a Business Case

After completing estimates and reviews:

  1. Open the Business Case

  2. Review all cost items

  3. Click ellipsis menu and select Approve.

Approval impacts

Approved Business Cases:

  • Become available for reporting

  • Can be tracked against actuals

  • Support dashboard analysis


Cancelling Business Cases

Business Cases can be cancelled if:

  • Projects are discontinued

  • Investments are postponed

  • Planning assumptions change


Cancelling a Business Case

To cancel:

  1. Open the Business Case

  2. Click ellipsis menu and select the cancel action
