Resource Spend (Cloud Resource)

The Resource Spend report provides a detailed view of cloud billed costs for a selected resource. It shows how spend for the resource has changed over time, along with consumption trends and supporting breakdowns by provider, region, service category, and billing account. This report enables analysis at the individual resource level with comparisons to prior year values.

This report is accessed by drilling down from the Spend By Resources chart in the Cloud Resources dashboard and is scoped to a selected resource.

Charts and tables

Selecting any data point in a chart allows you to drill down into a more detailed view of the selected element.

Monthly Spend

This chart shows the month-on-month and the cumulative year to date cloud billed costs. Cloud billed cost is shown as total spend and prior year cloud spend for each month. The cumulative dotted line predicts cost for future months based on historic cloud billed cost.

Click on any spend column to drill into the month and see the spend broken down for the month.

Monthly Consumed Quantity

The Monthly Consumed Quantity chart shows the resource consumption by month, comparing current year usage with prior year usage. The chart displays consumption based on the selected Consumed Unit (for example, Units/Month), helping you understand usage trends over time.

Resource Spend Details

The Resource Spend Details table provides a detailed breakdown of cloud billed costs for the selected resource. It includes month, provider, region, service category, service name, billed cost, prior year billed cost, and variance.

Click on any row to drill into the transaction level cloud billed cost for the resource.
