The Platform reports and dashboards provide a TBM-aligned view of platform-related IT spend. These dashboards help you track, analyze, and understand the total cost of ownership (TCO) across key technology platforms, enabling clearer visibility into where platform spend is going and how it is trending over time.
The primary platforms include the Cloud, Mainframe, On-Premise, and Server.
Use the dashboards under the Platform menu to:

Understand hosting platform-level spend and trends

Compare spend across platforms, vendors, applications, cost pool, and towers

Track how each platform contributes to overall IT spend
How Platform dashboards are configured
The dashboards and reports under Platform are driven by the Hosting Types and Hosting Platforms configured in Admin → Settings → Hosting Types.
Each hosting type is mapped to one or more hosting platforms and linked to one or more asset types. Platform dashboards use this configuration to determine which assets — and therefore which spend — are included in each view.
Only spend associated with the linked asset types is considered when calculating metrics and visualisations on Platform dashboards.
Example
If Cloud is configured as a hosting type and mapped to platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP, and is linked to the Cloud asset type:

The Cloud TCO dashboard will include spend from the cloud asset type, where the hosting platform is AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Spend associated with AWS, Azure, or GCP assets will roll up into Cloud TCO views, such as monthly spend, vendors, applications, and cost pools.
Similarly, the Platform TCO dashboard aggregates spend across multiple hosting types (for example, Cloud, Mainframe, and Server) based on the asset types linked to each hosting configuration.
This approach ensures Platform dashboards remain flexible and aligned to your organisation’s hosting model, while keeping spend attribution consistent across reports.

Platform TCO The Platform TCO dashboard provides a consolidated view of total IT spend across hosting platforms, including Cloud, Mainframe, and Server environments. It helps you understand where platform costs sit within overall IT spend and how those costs trend, compare, and break down across vendors, cost pools, towers, and consuming applications, products, and services.
