The Mainframe TCO dashboard provides a consolidated view of mainframe-related spend across the organization. It helps you understand how mainframe costs are distributed across cost pools, towers, platforms, vendors, applications, products, and services.

This dashboard is designed to give clear visibility into total cost of ownership for mainframe environments.

Scope

The Mainframe TCO dashboard includes spend associated with mainframe environments based on the application’s hosting configuration.

Specifically, this dashboard:

• Includes spend from assets linked to Mainframes asset type

• Considers assets where the hosting platform is configured as a mainframe platform (for example, IBM Z)

Monthly Spend

The Monthly Spend chart shows the month-on-month trend and the cumulative year to date spend. Spend is shown as total spend and prior year spend for each month. The cumulative dotted spend line predicts spend for future months based on historic spend.

Click on any spend column to drill into the month and see the spend broken down for the month.

Monthly Spend By Platform

This chart shows the monthly spend by the hosting platform on the mainframe asset.

Click on any hosting platform to drill further into the Mainframe Platform Spend dashboard.

Vendors

The Vendor chart shows the mainframe spend broken down by the vendors. The spend for each vendor is shown as spend YTD and prior Year YTD.

Mainframe as a Percentage of Total IT Spend

The Mainframe as a Percentage of Total IT Spend chart shows the Total Mainframe Spend as a percentage of total IT spend.

Cost Pools

The Cost Pool chart shows the cumulative year to date spend and prior year to date mainframe spend broken down by Cost Pool.

The Products table shows products that consume mainframe resources and are hosted on mainframe platforms. This view includes products where the hosting platform is mapped to the Mainframe asset type.

Services

The Services table shows services that consume mainframe resources and are hosted on mainframe platforms. This view includes services where the hosting platform is mapped to the Mainframe asset type.
