Platform TCO

The Platform TCO dashboard provides a consolidated view of total IT spend across hosting platforms, including Cloud, Mainframe, and Server environments. It helps you understand where platform costs sit within overall IT spend and how those costs trend, compare, and break down across vendors, cost pools, towers, and consuming applications, products, and services.

Scope

This dashboard includes:

• Spend associated with Cloud, Mainframe, and Server hosting platforms

• Additional hosting environments configured under Admin > Settings > Hosting Types

• Year-to-date, prior-year, and variance views for platform-related spend

KPIs

Charts and tables

Selecting any data point in a chart allows you to drill down into a more detailed view of the selected element.

Spend Model

The Spend Model uses a Sankey-style flow to visually show how spend moves through your TBM structure.

Hover over any section to view detailed values.

Monthly Spend

The Monthly Spend chart shows the month-on-month trend and the cumulative year to date spend. Spend is shown as total spend and prior year spend for each month. The cumulative dotted spend line predicts spend for future months based on historic spend.

Click on any spend column to drill into the month and see the spend broken down for the month.

Monthly Spend By Platform

This chart shows the monthly spend by the hosting platform on the Cloud, Server, and Mainframe assets.

Click on any hosting platform to drill further into the Platform Spend report.

Vendors

The Vendor chart shows the on-prem spend broken down by the vendors. The spend for each vendor is shown as spend YTD and prior year YTD.

Click on any vendor to drill into Platform Vendor Spend report.

Platform as a Percentage of Total IT Spend

The Platform as a Percentage of Total IT Spend chart shows the total platform spend as a percentage of total IT spend. The chart compares the total platform spend with the total IT spend and shows the value in terms of amount and percentage.

Cost Pools

The Cost Pools chart shows the cumulative year to date spend and prior year to date platform spend broken down by cost pool.

Towers

The Towers chart shows the cumulative year to date and prior year platform spend broken down by a tower. Click on any tower column to drill further into the Platform Tower Spend report.

Applications

The Applications table shows applications that consume platform resources and are hosted on supported platforms. This view includes applications where the hosting platform is mapped to the selected platform asset types such as Cloud, Mainframe, or Server.

Products

The Products table shows products that consume platform resources and are hosted on supported platforms. This view includes products where the hosting platform is mapped to the selected platform asset types such as Cloud, Mainframe, or Server.

Services

The Services table shows services that consume platform resources and are hosted on supported platforms. This view includes services where the hosting platform is mapped to the selected platform asset types such as Cloud, Mainframe, or Server.
