Mainframe Platform Spend

The Mainframe Platform Spend report provides an overview of mainframe spend for a filtered hosting platform. This allows you to see a detailed breakdown of your mainframe spend for a particular hosting platform.

This report is accessed by drilling down from the Monthly Spend By Platform chart in the Mainframe TCO dashboard and is scoped to a selected hosting platform.

KPIs

Charts and tables

Selecting any data point in a chart allows you to drill down into a more detailed view of the selected element.

Spend Model

The Spend Model uses a Sankey-style flow to visually show how spend moves through your TBM structure.

Hover over any section to view detailed values.

Monthly Spend

This chart shows the monthly trend for month-on-month and cumulative year to date spend. Spend is shown as total spend and prior year spend for each month.

Click on any month column to drill into the transaction level spend for the month.

Vendors

The Vendors chart shows a breakdown of spend by vendors for the given filter criteria.

Click on any vendor to drill into related GL transaction.

Mainframe as a Percentage of Total IT Spend

The Mainframe as a Percentage of Total IT Spend chart shows the total Mainframe Spend as a percentage of total IT spend. The chart compares the total mainframe spend with the total IT spend and shows the value in terms of amount and percentage.

Cost Pools

The Cost Pools chart shows the cumulative year to date spend and prior year to date spend broken down by TBM Cost Pool.

Click on any cost pool column to drill into the related GL transactions.

Towers

This chart shows the cumulative year to date spend and prior year to date spend broken down by tower for the given filter criteria.

Click on any tower to drill down to the transaction level.

Applications

The Applications table shows applications that consume mainframe resources and are hosted on mainframe platforms. This view includes applications where the hosting platform is mapped to the Mainframe asset type.

Products

The Products table shows products that consume mainframe resources and are hosted on mainframe platforms. This view includes products where the hosting platform is mapped to the Mainframe asset type.

Services

The Services table shows services that consume mainframe resources and are hosted on mainframe platforms. This view includes services where the hosting platform is mapped to the Mainframe asset type.
