Cube Refresh

The Cube Refresh page allows Admins to manually refresh data cubes on an as-needed basis, ensuring that dashboards, reports, and analytics reflect the most recent data changes.

What is a cube refresh?

YäRKEN uses cubes to power dashboards and analytics. Cubes are pre-aggregated datasets optimized for fast query performance and reporting.

When underlying source data changes—such as new uploads, updates, or corrections—the cubes must be refreshed so those changes are reflected across:

  • Standard dashboards

  • Custom dashboards

  • Reports

  • Analytics views

Refreshing a cube rebuilds its pre-aggregated data from the latest source data.

Cube refresh status

Each cube displays a current refresh status:

  • Refreshed
The cube is up to date and reflects the latest available data.

  • Pending
New or updated data exists, but the cube has not yet been refreshed.

You can use the Last Refreshed column to see when a cube was last updated.

Cubes in a Pending state do not reflect the latest data in dashboards, reports, or analytics.

Cube dependencies

Some cubes depend on other cubes. When source data changes:

  • All related cubes enter a Pending state.

  • All dependent cubes must be refreshed to ensure consistent and accurate reporting.

Cube refresh scenarios

Admins can refresh cubes in two ways:

Automatic refresh

  • Cubes are refreshed automatically within 24 hours of the last data change.

  • This ensures eventual consistency without manual intervention.

Manual refresh

Admins can manually refresh:

  • Individual cubes, or

  • All pending cubes at once using the Refresh Pending action.

Manual refresh is recommended when:

  • You want to see recently uploaded or corrected data immediately in dashboards or reports.

  • Automatic refresh did not process specific months or historical periods in the pre-aggregated data.

How to refresh cubes manually

To refresh,

  1. Navigate to Admin > Cube Refresh.

  2. Review cubes with a Pending status.

  3. Click the Refresh icon next to a specific cube to refresh it, or

  4. Click REFRESH PENDING to refresh all pending cubes at once.
