Default Settings

Use this article to manage the default financial and reporting behaviour used across Yarken.

The Default Settings lets you configure the current financial month, year and other parameter settings. To save or cancel the changes in the default settings, click green or red check mark next to each field.

What Default Settings control

Default Settings define the baseline values the application uses for financial year formatting, default year and month selection, and RAG threshold behaviour.

The main settings include:

  1. Year Name Format - This field is used to select the financial year format. For example, 2000, FY2000, and 2000-01. The format you choose will be the default year name format on the dashboard and data management screens.

  2. Current Financial Year - This field is used to select the current or default financial year within the application. By default, the application will show the data for this selected financial year. However, you can use the year filters to check the data for the desired years.

  3. Financial Year Start Month - The selected month will be considered as a starting month of every financial year added in the application. By default, the application will show the data for this selected month. However, you can use the month filters to check the data for the desired month.

  4. Set the RAG Threshold % for High Accuracy - This defines the accuracy level in the Red-Amber-Green (RAG) framework. You can set the maximum limit for the deviation percentage to be shown in green.

  5. Set the RAG Threshold % for Medium Accuracy - This is a maximum limit for the deviation percentage to be shown in AMBER. Deviation percentages above this value will be shown in RED.

  6. Permission to retrieve user name for license usage - This allows Yarken to retrieve your user name to show in license usage report.

  7. Set TBM Taxonomy Version - This migrates Yarken TBM Taxonomy setup into latest version.

Why these settings matter

These settings affect how users see default periods on dashboards and data management screens, how months are sequenced in filters, and how variance accuracy is shown in the Red, Amber, Green framework.

If the financial year start month changes, the month sequence shown in filters changes as well.

Good practice

Review Default Settings before adding new financial years, loading new data, or starting a new reporting cycle.
