Product TCO

The Product TCO dashboard provides a complete view of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for a selected product. It helps users understand how product spend is trending over time, how it compares to the prior year, and how that spend is distributed across cost pools, towers, vendors, labor, and other key dimensions.

It brings together application-related spend and shows how that cost is distributed across cost pools, towers, hosting types, vendors, labors, cost centers, assets, and cloud service categories.

This makes it easy to understand what is driving the product’s total cost, and where optimization opportunities may exist.

Total year-to-date product spend

Prior Year Spend (YTD)

Year-to-date spend in the prior year.


Variance (YTD)

Difference between current year spend (YTD) and prior year spend (YTD).

Total Prior Year Spend

Total spend for the prior year.


Potential Savings

The total savings opportunities identified for a selected product that have not yet been realized.

Realized Savings (YTD

The total savings achieved year-to-date for a selected product.

The Spend Model uses a Sankey-style flow to visually show how spend moves through your TBM structure.

Monthly Spend

The Monthly Spend chart shows the month-on-month trend and the cumulative year to date spend. Spend is shown as total spend and prior year spend for each month. The cumulative dotted spend line predicts spend for future months based on historic spend.

Click on any spend column to drill into the month and see the spend broken down for the month.

Vendors

The Vendors chart shows a breakdown of spend by vendors for the given filter criteria.

Click on any vendor to drill into related GL transaction.

Labor

The Labor chart shows a breakdown of product spend by labor category. The labor spend is shown as YTD spend and prior year YTD spend at cost pool and sub cost pool level.

Top 20 Cost Centers

This chart shows the cumulative YTD spend and prior year YTD spend broken down by cost centers.

Click on a cost centers to see a drill down to the transaction level.

Monthly Tower Spend

The Monthly Tower Spend chart shows the monthly product spend broken down by tower.

Monthly Cost Pool Spend

The Monthly Cost Pools Spend chart shows monthly product spend broken down by cost pool.

Asset Spend

The Asset Spend chart shows monthly asset spend allocated to the filtered product from any asset type.

Monthly Cloud Spend

The Monthly Cloud Spend chart shows the monthly product cloud spend broken down by service category such as Compute, Databases, Storage, and Networking. This helps you understand which cloud services are driving the product’s cloud costs and how those services trend over time.

Product Spend Details

This chart shows the product spend trend for month-on-month. Spend is shown as YTD spend, prior year spend and variance for each month.
