Manage Cloud Providers and Service Category mapping

Use Provider settings to manage the cloud providers available in Yarken. This is where administrators maintain provider details, including the Provider URL, manage the provider list used for cloud usage uploads, and review or extend how provider service categories align to TBM structures.

What the Provider setting controls

The Provider setting defines which cloud providers are available in the environment and how their service categories behave in Yarken.

This setting matters because provider values are used in cloud data ingestion, service category classification, and TBM-aligned reporting. It gives administrators a controlled place to manage provider definitions without relying on fixed system values.

From this page, administrators can:

• View the configured provider list

• Add a new provider, including the Provider URL

• Edit an existing provider where allowed

• Delete a provider that is no longer needed where allowed

• Review service categories for each provider

• Use TBM Mapping V4 and TBM Mapping V5 to add custom service category mappings to cost pool, sub cost pool, tower, and sub-tower when an existing mapping is not covered

How Provider works in Yarken

Each provider represents a cloud data source or provider type that can be recognized and used in Yarken.

When a provider is configured, Yarken uses that provider definition to support cloud usage data handling and to classify service categories consistently for reporting and analysis.

Provider settings also make the TBM relationship more transparent by showing how service categories connect to the TBM hierarchy used across the platform.

Default behavior and restrictions

Provider behavior depends on whether the provider is a governed cloud provider or a newly added provider.

Understand the service category and TBM mapping view

The Provider setting includes visibility into service category to TBM conversion details.

For each provider, administrators can review which service category maps to the corresponding TBM structure. Depending on the category, this can include:

• Sub Cost Pool

• Cost Pool

• Tower

• Sub-Tower

This helps teams understand how cloud service categories are interpreted in Yarken and how they roll into finance and IT reporting views. The UI also provides TBM Mapping V4 and TBM Mapping V5 buttons for adding custom TBM mappings when the existing mapping does not cover a required service category.

Use this view when you need to:

• Confirm how a cloud service category is classified

• Explain TBM alignment to Finance, TBM, or FinOps stakeholders

• Review category structure before onboarding a new provider

• Troubleshoot unexpected reporting groupings

Manage provider configuration

Administrators use this setting to maintain provider configuration in a controlled way.

Add a new provider

1. Go to Settings → Provider.

2. Click + ADD NEW.

3. Enter the required provider details, including the Provider URL.

4. Save the provider.

After a new provider is created, Yarken treats it as a FOCUS-based provider and applies FOCUS-standard service categories.

Review or edit a provider

1. Open Settings → Provider.

2. From the provider list, click edit icon.

3. Review the provider details.

4. Update allowed fields if changes are supported.

5. Save the changes.

Service mapping is available to review under Service Mapping column.

Delete a provider

1. Open Settings → Provider.

2. Locate the provider you want to remove.

3. Select the delete option, if deletion is available for that provider.

4. Confirm the deletion.
