Integrate AWS Billing Data with Yarken Using FOCUS 1.0 Format

Use this guide to:

  1. Create an AWS billing data export in FOCUS 1.0 format

  2. Generate AWS access credentials for setting up AWS S3 Pipeline connection in Yarken

  3. Understand the S3 folder and file structure used for billing exports

Overview

Yarken can automatically import AWS billing and usage data from S3 bucket using AWS S3 Storage Pipeline in the FOCUS 1.0 format.

This integration allows organizations to continuously ingest AWS billing data into Yarken for the cloud cost analysis. Once AWS S3 storage Pipeline is configured, Yarken automatically retrieves billing files from your Amazon S3 bucket and processes them according to the pipeline schedule.

How the integration works

  • AWS generates billing export files and stores them in Amazon S3.

  • Yarken periodically connects to the S3 bucket, retrieves new files, validates them, imports the data, and archives processed files.

Before you begin

Ensure you have:

  • AWS account with access to Billing and Cost Management

  • Existing Amazon S3 bucket

  • IAM permissions to create exports and access S3

If your organization restricts access to the S3 bucket through IP allowlists, contact Yarken Support to obtain the required IP addresses for whitelisting.
