What Knowledge Base means in AI settings
In AI settings, Knowledge Base refers to the dimensions index used by Ask Yarken to resolve names in user questions.
It is not a document repository.
What the index does
The dimensions index helps Ask Yarken match user terms to the right values in Yarken data.
Examples include:
-
Vendor names.
-
Application names.
-
Project names.
-
Cost centers.
-
Accounts.
-
Teams.
-
Consumers.
This helps Ask Yarken apply the right filters when users ask questions in natural language.
Admin actions
The Knowledge Base screen includes two main actions:
-
Refresh the dimensions index.
-
Clear the dimensions index.
Refresh the dimensions index
Refresh the index when master data changes.
Examples:
-
New vendors are added.
-
Applications are renamed.
-
New cost centers are created.
-
Accounts are updated.
-
Teams or consumers change.
To refresh the index:
-
Go to Admin > Settings.
-
Under AI, select Knowledge Base.
-
Select Refresh.
Clear the dimensions index
Clear the index only when a full reset is required.
After clearing, refresh the index so Ask Yarken can rebuild name resolution using current master data.
To clear the index:
-
Go to Admin > Settings.
-
Under AI, select Knowledge Base.
-
Select Clear.
-
Select Refresh.
Why this matters
If the index is stale, Ask Yarken may:
-
Miss newly added values.
-
Ask for clarification more often.
-
Match the wrong vendor, application, cost center, or account.
-
Return incomplete results.
Keeping the index current improves name resolution and answer quality.
