Mobile Usage Data

Mobile Usage Data in Yarken helps you capture, manage, and analyze mobile usage costs from service providers. By uploading mobile usage data, you can track spend at a granular level—by mobile number, employee, team, charge type, and time—giving you full visibility into how mobile services are consumed across the organization.

Once uploaded, mobile consumption data is available in the Technology > Mobile Spend dashboard and Consumption Data cube in Analytics where you can analyze usage across multiple dimensions.

The Mobile Usage Data is available under Yarken Designer > Consumption > Mobile.

From this page, you can:

  • Upload mobile usage data

  • View existing consumption records

  • Delete previously uploaded data

  • Apply upload rules to enrich and standardize mobile usage data

How Mobile Usage Data works

  • Mobile consumption data represents monthly usage-based charges incurred for mobile services.

  • Mobile consumption data upload is carry out using the Mobile Consumption template available in the Data Dictionary to ensure accurate field mapping and processing.

  • Each record captures a specific charge associated with a mobile number.

  • You can upload multiple records for the same mobile number and charge type.

  • Uploaded data becomes immediately available for:

    • Monthly mobile spend tracking

    • Charge-type analysis

    • Employee and team-level consumption reporting

  • If multiple files are uploaded for the same month, the latest upload overwrites previous files for that month.

Fields used in the Mobile Usage Data

Mobile usage data relies on a set of mandatory and optional fields to capture charges accurately and support reporting.

Mandatory fields

  • Mobile Number: The mobile number associated with the charge.

  • Charge Type: The type of mobile charge in which the mobile number is getting charged, for example, Call, Text, MMS, Data, Phone Plan.

  • Charge: The monetary value of the charge.

Optional fields

  • Employee Name: The employee assigned to the mobile number or service.

  • Employee Team: The team or department using the mobile service.

  • Service Provider: The telecom operator delivering the mobile service, for example, Spark, Telecom, Vodafone.

  • Charge Date: The date on which the mobile service charge was applied.

  • Charge Description: A brief explanation of the mobile service charge applied.

Uploading Mobile Usage Data

Prerequisites

Before uploading mobile consumption data, ensure that:

  • Mobile usage data is available in the Mobile Consumption file.

  • The file includes usage data in all mandatory fields.

Procedure

  1. Go to Yarken Designer.

  2. Choose the required year.

  3. Select Consumption > Mobile.

  4. Click the ellipsis (…) menu and choose Add Usage Data.

  5. Browse or drag and drop the mobile usage file.

  6. Review the data and click NEXT

  7. Choose FINISH to complete the upload, or Edit Mapping to review and adjust field mappings..

Once uploaded, the total spend and last load time are displayed on the monthly tile.

Managing Mobile Usage Data

From the Mobile Usage Data screen, you can:

  • Add new mobile usage records

  • Delete existing usage data

  • Review spend and load history

  • Apply upload rules to enrich or standardize data

Delete existing Mobile Usage Data

You can delete previously uploaded mobile usage data for a specific month.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to Consumption > Mobile in Yarken Designer.

  2. Confirm the year and locate the month for which mobile usage data exists.

  3. Click the ellipsis (⋯) menu on the selected month.

  4. Select Delete Usage Data.

  5. Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Once deleted:

  • All mobile usage records for that month are permanently removed.

  • The monthly spend for that month is reset to $0.

  • You can upload a new mobile consumption file for the same month.

Note: Deleting usage data affects only the selected month and does not impact data in other months.

Analyzing mobile usage

Once mobile consumption data is uploaded, Yarken provides multiple ways to analyze mobile spend and usage across dates, teams, and individuals.

Mobile Spend dashboard

The Mobile Spend dashboard offers a high-level view of mobile consumption and spend trends for the selected year.

From this dashboard, you can:

  • Track year-to-date mobile spend

  • Analyze monthly spend trends

  • View spend breakdowns by charge type (for example, calls, text, data, roaming)

  • Identify top employees contributing to mobile spend

  • Identify top teams based on mobile consumption

Analytics > Consumption Data

For additional reporting, you can refer the Analytics > Consumption Data cube

This view allows you to:

  • Analyze mobile usage at a record-level granularity

  • View and group data by mobile number, charge type, employee, team, service provider, and charge date

  • Combine mobile usage with custom fields.

  • Use advanced features such as filters, grouping, sorting, and aggregations.
