Overview

This section is intended for Yarken administrators responsible for configuring and maintaining advanced integrations with external systems.

Yarken supports advanced integrations that connect your organization with external applications, cloud platforms, databases, and file storage services. These integrations automate data movement and operational workflows, reducing manual effort while keeping your Yarken data accurate and up to date.

Yarken uses Workato Embedded to power these advanced integrations. You configure and manage connections and automation recipes directly within Yarken, allowing you to securely exchange data with supported third-party systems without leaving the application.

Use advanced integrations when you need to:

Import data from external systems into Yarken.
Automate recurring or event-driven workflows.
Upload files for automated processing.
Synchronize information between Yarken and third-party applications.
Collect cloud optimization and recommendation data.
Reduce manual integration and data-processing tasks.

How advanced integrations are implemented

Advanced integrations are delivered through a shared implementation process between Yarken and your organization.

Yarken deploys and configures the required automation framework, integration recipes, and supporting components as part of your implementation.
Your administrator authorizes connections to external systems, manages authentication credentials, and monitors integration activity.
End users use the imported data within Yarken for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.

How advanced integrations work

Advanced integrations consist of several components that work together to securely exchange information between Yarken and external systems.

Component	Purpose
Connection	Securely authenticates Yarken with an external application or service.
Automation Recipe	Defines the automated workflow that retrieves, transforms, or sends data.
Data Mapping Template	Maps incoming source fields to the appropriate Yarken fields when data ingestion is required.
Pipeline	Processes uploaded data and makes it available for reporting and analysis.

Note:

Not every integration requires all components. For example, an event-driven automation may only require a connection and an automation recipe, while a file-based integration typically uses a connection, recipe, data mapping template, and pipeline.

Basic and advanced integrations

Yarken provides two integration methods depending on your use case.

Integration type	Description
BASIC	Native Yarken connections and pipelines used for supported cloud storage providers, APIs, and recurring data ingestion.
ADVANCED	Embedded automation powered by Workato for complex integrations, custom workflows, and supported third-party applications.

Use BASIC integrations when you're configuring standard Yarken data ingestion.

Use ADVANCED integrations when you need to automate workflows or integrate with supported third-party applications through Workato Embedded.

Before you begin

Before configuring an advanced integration, ensure that:

Workato Embedded has been enabled for your Yarken environment.
You have a Yarken administrator account.
You have permission to manage Connections and Pipelines.
The required credentials for the external system are available.
Any required permissions or service accounts have been configured in the source system.

Some integrations may require additional prerequisites, such as API keys, cloud provider permissions, or database credentials. Refer to the relevant integration guide for provider-specific requirements.

Configuration workflow

Most advanced integrations follow the same high-level process.

Prepare the required credentials and permissions.
Generate a Yarken API key, if required.
Authorize the required advanced connections.
Review and configure the automation recipe.
Test the integration.
Activate the automation recipe.
Validate the imported or synchronized data.
Monitor future executions and resolve any issues.
